I just can’t believe my old friend is gone. Joe’s light shined so incredibly bright. He projected passion in everything he did. He could be fiercely protective and equally hold others accountable. I met Joe more than 30 years ago and spent many hours working alongside him at his family’s business – talking, laughing, eating, listening to music and talk radio, playing Wiffle Ball. I considered him to be an older brother. I still remember the very first time I met him and how personable he was and how welcome he made me feel. He was kind and among the funniest people I ever met. He was one of the few people I’ve ever known that could make me laugh uncontrollably. If he enjoyed my company just a portion of how much I enjoyed his then I would feel really good about that. As the years passed, I always hoped I would have an opportunity to see him again. I’m so thankful I was able to reconnect with him on Facebook and exchange some personal messages with him during his final months. I’m going to miss you, Joe – and will always love you. My deepest condolences to Tina, Gavin, Griffin, his mom, Patricia – and his entire family.
