The best there ever was

Mamie,

I spent many days at your house with you growing up... playing under the cherry blossom tree with Spike & swinging on the tire swing Tommy made out of his motorcycle tire for us. Christmas wasn't really Christmas until we went to Mamie's house and opened her presents. You were all about your grandchildren, never forgetting to give us all goodie bags for whatever holiday it was: St. Patricks Day, Valentine's Day, or Easter. We'd take the bus to the mall & you would buy me anything you thought I wanted even if I told you I didn't need it. You worried about everyone else before yourself & didn't have a mean bone in your body, despite being the tough Irish broad you were! My dad gets that from you. Even when you were suffering toward the end, you gave me a smile & tried your best not to show you were hurting. I am thankful that you are at peace now but I am going to miss you so much. You had a contagious laugh & made people smile wherever you went. I am grateful to call you my grandmother & to have spent 24 years with you... I love you always Mamie, please watch over us & Rest Peacfully <3

Love, Amanda
