Memories

Bobby and Billy Johnathan are my 1st cousins, but truly they were more like my brothers to me.  Although I love all my cousins, those of us who lived within close proximity and were close in age had a special bond.  We enjoyed each other’s company and loved being around each other.  I remember so often I would ask my mother when we were going to Aunt Roslyn’s house.  When we all (Bobby and Billy, Diane and Boo, and my sister Lynne and I) were there at the same time, it was the happiest times.  As the memories come back, my tears start to flow.  There are so many memories of Bobby and Billy, of times we spent together, of the parties we went to (when Billy helped me out of a dangerous situation), of trips to Heckscher State Park, to playing the train game (at the Bay Shore house when a train came by, we all jumped on furniture, pretending that if we didn’t, the train would run over our feet!), and the other numerous experiences we shared.  I remember once when we were young, Bobby and Billy and I dressed the same and were with Aunt Roslyn shopping.  Someone came up to us and asked if we were triplets.  We just looked at each other and smiled and said “Yes”.  As we grew older and went along different paths, we lost touch physically, but I felt that we were never apart in spirit and in our hearts.  I am so sorry that I did not spend more time with Bobby and Billy in our later years, but they will live in my memories and in my heart forever, and every time I hear a train, I will think of Bobby and Billy.  I love and miss you guys! You are together now.  Rest in Peace.  God Bless you and God Bless our family.
