Son of the late Italian immigrants to Ellis Island, Domenico Mercuri and Theresa Mercuri of Flushing, NY.
Brother to Marion Conti, Carmella Petronzio, Michael Mercuri, Mary Porter and the late Catherine Andreucci, and Theresa Bisaccio.
Devoted grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law.
Frank was loved by many within the community of Kings Park where his 56 years of servitude helped to shape the hamlet as we know it today.
A veteran of the US Army, and member of the Donald C Monroe Post 44 American Legion, Knights of Columbus, KP Civic Association, St. Joseph's Parish, St. Vincent DePaul Society, and founding member of the Kings Park Photography Club.
Frank always felt compelled to be part of something more than himself. Giving to rather than taking from, Frank's compassion towards those around him stemmed from his deep Catholic faith.
His unwavering devotion toward his family, neighbors and community were unprecedented. Capturing our lives and the beauty of nature that surrounded him through his camera lens.
History has a place for those like Frank, and Kings Park will forever be touched and remembered by those with whom he came to call friends.
