Obituary for Benjamin A. Carlino

At the request of the Carlino Family please wear a mask when paying your respects in the chapel.

Benjamin A. Carlino of Kings Park, New York, passed away on March 26, 2022. He was born to Charles and Marie Carlino on May 21, 1933. He grew up in the Bronx and graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute.

Ben married Connie Ramondetta on August 7, 1955 and treasured their 66 years together. He was known for his creative and innovative spirit, sense of humor, love for gardening and cooking, and generous heart for anyone in need.

After serving in the Naval Air Reserves, Ben worked as a mechanical engineer for several companies, including Belmont Metals. After retirement, Ben continued his education at SUNY Farmingdale, leading to a second career as a horticultural inspector with the NYS Department of Agriculture. He enjoyed being surrounded by nature with a mission to eradicate the Asian long-horned beetle and other invasive species.

He is survived by his wife, Connie, his children Chuck (Mary), Paula (Scott), Diane, Mary (Michael), and Matthew (Jennifer). He was a devoted grandfather to Collin, Brandon, Catherine, Michael, Benjamin, Ashlyn, and Grace.

We will miss his dedication to his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Plant a Tree" in his honor as shown above or to St. Jude Children's Hospital
