Obituary for Carlo "Charlie" Tanzi
CARLO TANZI, JR., of Kings Park, New York, passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, February 19, 2021, at the age of 85 years, born in Brooklyn, New York, on May 21, 1935.
Carlo was married for over 53 years to his loving and devoted wife, Marilyn J. Tanzi, who predeceased him on September 17, 2008.
Carlo is survived by his four children: son, Carlo W. Tanzi, and his wife, Mary; son, Steven A. Tanzi, and his wife Daria; daughter, Carolyn Ortner, and her husband, Clayton; son, John A. Tanzi, and his wife, Beth.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren (Aria, Andrea, Stephanie, Clayton, Allison, Steven, Jack and Emily) and four great-grandchildren (Amelia, Mia, Jacob and Miles).
A Long Island businessman for more than 50 years and local commercial property owner, Carlo ("Charlie", as many liked to call him) was long regarded by friends and others who knew him well for his extraordinarily generous nature and unfailing devotion to his family and work. He enjoyed to travel with his wife and family, having made many trips abroad to Italy, Mexico and elsewhere, and in the U.S. to North Carolina and Florida.
