Obituary for Richard Wojcicki

Mary and Chester Richard Wojcicki brought Richard Chester Wojcicki into this world on Dec 13, 1951. He was the first born of five children. He was raised in a Christian household that was filled with opportunity and that valued athletics and education.
He spoke of his childhood as being the best years of his life. He sang in the church choir and served as an altar boy in his youth. He played baseball through out his life, enjoyed all sports and the outdoors . He took pleasure in riding in the waves at the beach, taking walks around the neighborhood and driving to downtown Bayside to walk around and visit various restaurants and pubs. He always enjoyed being with people especially his family.
After graduating from St.Robert Bellarmine Grammar School , Rich attended Bishop Reilly High School. He went on to attend The University of Detroit where he played collegiate baseball. He received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
Rich had his share of suffering in his adult years but he was resilient and always maintained a caring and cheerful attitude towards others; he put others first. After his father died, he took great pride in helping to take care of his mother. They had a special bond.
He is survived by his 2 brothers, Larry and Peter Wojcicki and 2 sisters Marylou Wojcicki Haas and Clare Consiglio. Rich loved his brothers; they shared a passion for sports. When they were young ,they spent many hours playing baseball together. As they got older they attended many games ,reunions and spent many holidays with each other. He also had a special relationship with his sisters Marylou and Clare. They opened their homes to him, hosting many family gatherings; and making sure his needs were met. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who he loved and always kept in touch with.
People were all fond of Rich , he would learn their names and showed genuine care for them. He still kept in touch with childhood buddies and got together with them each year.
His special spiritual bond with God should be noted. He was a faithful Catholic. He approached his serious illness fearlessly; he trusted God and knew in his heart of the promise of eternal life in heaven. Richard died on May 3rd 2020.
Rich will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
There won’t be any services at this time. The burial will be private.
