Condolence From: Michael Mastrogiacomo
Condolence: Please accept our sincerest condolences. Pat was a wonderful, kind and brilliant man. I've known Pat for over 30 years through the Smithtown Bay Yacht Club and working as a bus driver for the Towns Senior Citizen Dept. I used to pick up Old Joe your Dad as a driver.
Pat will be sorely missed not only by me but the whole community and all the great things he did for us.
Sincerely
Michel Mastrogiacomo

Condolence: I felt so sorry for you at the dedication of the Nesconset Library when you were the only Democrat there. So I went to stand beside you. Sadly you were forced to become a Republican since as a Democrat many obstacles were put in your way. In heaven, where you surely reside, there are no Democrats or Republicans, just people who did their job well.

Condolence: I first met Supervisor Vecchio (Pat) in 1981 as a member of the Smithtown Rotary Club. Pat was an honorary Rotarian for many, many years and always exemplified Rotary's motto of "Service above Self" in all of his personal and professional dealings. As a die-hard NY Yankees fan, Pat , always shared with me stories of his hero, Joe DiMaggio, who he met on at least on 3 separate occasions.I have a Yankee tie and a letter given to Pat, from the NY Yankees for his service as a NYPD Detective and as a bodyguard for Mayor John Lindsay. Pat is the reason, my wife, Jodi and I live in Nesconset, Town of Smithtown. It was an honor and privilege to be one of Pat's friends and a fellow Rotarian. Pat loved Smithtown , the NY Yankees and his special Italian heritage.

Condolence: Our thoughts, prayers and sympathies are with the Vecchio family on the loss of a great man and public servant, Patrick R. Vecchio. It has been a privilege to have known him and worked on community matters with him since the 1970s. My father, Ed and him, also, spent much time together when presenting Eagle Scout and Gold Award certificates through out Suffolk County for decades. He will be missed.
