Teigue, Joseph R. on November 10, 2016. Beloved husband of Joan V. (nee Elliot). Devoted son of the late Thomas and Delia, stepson of Laurence Coan. Devoted father of Joseph Jr. (Sue), Michael (Debbie) and Kelly Maloney (James). Cherished grandfather of David, Brian, Kim, Colleen and Casey Teigue, Laura Dolan (Maloney), Katie and Bryan Maloney. Adored great grandfather of Gabriel DeJoseph, Aidan and Austin Teigue. Loving brother of the late Thomas, Gene and Rita Tedeschi. Proud veteran of Merchant Marines and United States Marine Corp. An avid golfer and NY Met fan. A plumber by trade, he rose through the ranks of his beloved KPFD to become chief and later fire commissioner. Affectionately nicknamed “Teddy Bear” by all who knew him. Following with family tradition he became owner of Teigue’s Tavern and manager of the restaurants at Smithtown Landing Country Club. Joe and Joan relocated to the great outdoors in Titusville, Florida where Joe was able to play golf year round. Reposing Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Clayton Funeral Home, Inc. 25 Meadow Rd. (cor. of Indian Head Rd.) Kings Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday 9:30am at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Kings Park. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
